Patzutzun

On Tuesdays and Thursdays, about 180 kids arrive to our feeding program with empty bowls and empty stomachs. When it is time to head home, however, the leave full of nutritious food and the Word of God. Patzutzun is a rural farming village that uses every square foot to grow corn. When the stalks are tall, there is no house visible. Inside these adobe homes with dirt floors live families hungry for hope. We’d love it if you would pray for Patzutzun and the families who live there. Pray that God would continue to make Himself known in this farming town. Thanks!

Panajachel

Pana is a Guatemalan tourist town at the edge of one of the most beautiful lakes in the world. This is where RHI was born, where our Solóla team has an office and where we reach out to students with our reading program 2 afternoons a week. Although tourists pass through Pana on a daily basis, our heart is to connect with the students who call Pana home. That is why our team house, the Casa Frutal, hosts 45 students every Monday and Wednesday afternoon. Our team works hard to help kids learn to read and learn to walk with Jesus. We’d love it if you’d pray for the town of Panajachel and for God to be made famous there. Thanks.

Chuitziyut

We often joke that the best way to find Chuitziyut is to go to the end of the Earth and then go back about 100 yards. This tiny-10-15 house-town sits on the edge of a huge valley at the end of a rutted-out mountain road. RHI has been invited in to help this town with a serious malnutrition problem. Our nutrition program coupled with our lunch-time devotions has helped to feed this community both physically and spiritually. The politics of a tiny town in Guatemala, however, are more complicated than you would think and this has led to us not currently serving here. The majority of the town leadership want us back and we want to go back; but first the powers-that-be need to come to an agreement. Will you pray that God will reopen the door to this village and allow us to represent Him as we serve? (Colossians 4:3). Thanks!

Santiago Zamora

Santiago Zamora is a small town just outside of Antigua, Guatemala. In the last few weeks, there has been some violence impacting this aldea. RHI serves this community with both our reading program and our middle school program. We’d love it if you would pray for the people of Santiago. Pray for protection. Pray for students and adults alike to turn to Jesus. And pray that God would continue to keep a door open for our ministry as we reach out.
