Mind Changers

I am currently taking some courses through the Indiana University Lilly Family School of Philanthropy on my way to a Certificate in Fundraising Management.

At the same time, Maureen is taking a 12-week course exploring her identity in Christ with Susan Kusman of “And yet she flourished…” Biblical Counseling.

Balancing our work, ministry and course work has been a bit of a challenge, but worth it!

Game Changers

We often joke that the authentic Texas barbecue at Pappy’s BBQ keeps us on the mission field.
Pappy’s not withstanding, good healthcare is a big factor as well. We have always had access to decent care in Guatemala City (about an hour away on a good day), but just recently @vitalmedgt opened up less than a mile from our house. This provides us with local “urgent care like” services.

The combo* of good brisket and a nearby place to get checked out will keep us serving here in Guatemala for a while longer!

*Those two things plus a sense of calling and an uber-faithful support team.

World Changers

Maureen: “It is a privilege to lead Emily, Isabel, Heydi, Taryn and Ashlyn (on the video) in a Bible study each week. These ladies are already changing the world for Jesus and I’m their biggest fan.”

You do the Hokey Pokey…

In Maureen’s Wednesday afternoon English class with Abeja Flowers, after this studious pic was taken, there may or may not have been women dancing the Hokey Pokey as they were learning left and right in English. (?”You put your left arm in…”)
