On Columbus Day weekend a group of guys from Destiny Church are coming down to Guatemala. This is a quick trip for them with a lightning fast agenda of heading out to Panajachel, taking a boat over to San Pablo and prayerfully discerning a plan for a school to be a part of the ministry of Iglesia Canaan. These guys have a big vision and a whole lot of work ahead of them. I’ve been praying for them and for God to resource this project and grant them His insights. (See further Proverbs 16:9).
Now, let me give you a little insight into the Mission Erickson psyche: As we just said, we’re excited about these guys and their vision but we are more excited about the extra baggage they’ll be carrying. Not the kind of emotional baggage we all tend to bring with us, but the second bag that is allowed gratis on international flights and can be filled with stuff like running shoes for Mo, Spanish-English Bibles, peanut butter, DVD’s and homemade cookies.
Sure we are committed to be praying for these guys and the spiritual journey they are on, but the reality is, we’ll pray for a lot longer after enjoying a plate full of cookies.
