The heavens declare the glory of God;
the skies proclaim the work of his hands.
Psalm 19:1
Guatemala is a country filled with volcanoes; three of which are considered active. We regularly take our teams on an easy hike up nearby Volcán Pacaya where they can roast marshmallows on an active lava field. Volcán Santa Maria is far to the West of us in Quetzaltenango. Volcán Fuego, however, looms over our town of Antigua and puffs out smoke on a daily basis. This past weekend, Katey and I climbed Fuego’s neighbor, Volcán Acatenango; this was clearly the most difficult hike either of us have ever attempted. This POTW of Fuego was taken from our base camp at 11,000 feet where we enjoyed her natural pyrotechnic display throughout the evening.
Photos of the Week will show up every week in our Friday posts on Mission Erickson dot com. Our hope is that each weekly POTW helps you to better connect with our ministry in Guatemala. Enjoy.
