This week we had the opportunity get away for a few days. That’s all it took was a couple of days looking out at this to restore and refresh us. Now, we are back and ready to go! It was good to “Be still and know that He is God”. (Ps 46)
Emily continues to invest in the lives of the precious ones in her Santiago Zamora preschool class. Last week she borrowed a roll of toilet paper from our closet as she headed out to teach. The gospel account was obviously about Jesus raising Lazarus from the dead and with Emily’s creativity, we know that at least Angie got the gist of the story. In fact, one could say she got “wrapped up in it”.
This has been a rough week. On Sunday, Volcán Fuego erupted and sent her pyroclastic flow rampaging through the villages scattered on her skirt. As of today, over 100 people have died, many more are missing and thousands have been displaced from their homes. Will you join us in praying that the truth of this verse be realized in the hearts of our not so distant neighbors who are grieving their losses and wondering about their futures today?
