Will Smith Came to Visit Posted on March 4, 2022 by Todd Reply Every once in a while, our little Central American town garners some international attention. That was certainly the case yesterday when the Fresh Prince of Bel Air walked our cobblestone streets.*Update: This was posted before the Oscars scene with Chris Rock. As far as we know, there was no slapping happening during Will’s visit to our town.
Right Brain Processing Posted on February 25, 2022 by Todd Reply I got to lead a few groups through Psalm 1 this week. In two of the groups, we studied the passage together and then busted out the crayons to allow the right side of our brains to process the information. Try it! Psalm 1 Blessed is the man who walks not in the counsel of the wicked, nor stands in the way of sinners, nor sits in the seat of scoffers; but his delight is in the law of the LORD, and on his law he meditates day and night. He is like a tree planted by streams of water that yields its fruit in its season, and its leaf does not wither. In all that he does, he prospers. The wicked are not so, but are like chaff that the wind drives away. Therefore the wicked will not stand in the judgment, nor sinners in the congregation of the righteous; for the LORD knows the way of the righteous, but the way of the wicked will perish.
Control Posted on February 19, 2022 by Todd Reply Control is somewhat of an illusion. That was clear to us as our house shook on Wednesday morning during the strongest earthquake we have experienced in our time in Guatemala. We gauge the severity of the quake based on just how much our light fixtures are shaking. When they are rattling, we stay in bed. When they are swinging, we exit the house. That morning, we exited the house. Whether our light fixtures are still, rattling or shaking, our peace is still found in His sovereignty. The earth is the Lord’s, and everything in it, the world, and all who live in it; for he founded it on the seas and established it on the waters. Psalms? ?24:1-2? ?NIV??
Next Gen Posted on February 4, 2022 by Todd Reply Typically you would find our son Clay behind the camera, but a few weeks ago he had the opportunity to share in front of the lens about the future of the church and what was in his lunchbox as a kid. Give this New Life message a listen, I think you will find hope for our future there. The message starts at around the 10:30 mark. https://fb.watch/aWOhiJHoA0/
