Yesterday, at el mercado (the market) a kind, older, Mayan woman added two guayabas to our bag. At the time I didn’t know what they were or how to eat them. Since then, I’ve been educated as to the ways of the guayaba and have found them to be delicious. This was one of many new experiences for us.
Each day here brings something new. It may be a new smell en la calle (the street), a new taste en un restaurante (a restaurant), a new phrase en nuestro escuela (our school), or a new mercy from God (Lamentations 3:22-23). With each new experience I’m reminded of the Biblical challenge to:
Taste and see that the LORD is good;
blessed is the man who takes refuge in him.
Psalm 34:8
So, what’s new in your corner of the world?
