It’s me, Emily. I have not told you a lot about Guatemala. Let’s start with the language…

My mom went off to the store in the middle of the day and every lunch time she talks with Wendy en Español. So I got to have a small conversation with her in Spanish. It was kind of weird at first. Then she said something en Español, so I replied “Si” not knowing what she had said. I soon found out that she was saying that I had peanut butter on my cheek. We both laughed together and I thought it was so cool that I know little Spanish and she knows little English, yet we were still laughing together about hiding Diet Cokes and peanut butter on my cheek.

Wendy is the best because she is teaching me that talking to people who don’t speak my language is fun!
