When a team comes down to serve with us in Guatemala, we always take a morning and ask one of our friends in the village to teach us how to make tortillas. The local women show us that they are the experts, while our visiting guests struggle through what is a simple daily chore for many. The results of our efforts, though, are baskets of warm tortillas and fresh (like plucked-off-of-the-tree-fresh) guacamole. It is always my favorite meal during a team week.
