Photo of the Week

Last Thursday in the tiny village of El Tizate, the Servants 4 Him team got to be a part of a neighboring Church’s outreach. We had been working in Barrio de la Cruz that week, and the leadership of the church we were working in invited us to help (read “lead”) their outreach next door.

After our team performed an acoustic worship set in Spanish, I got to share about Jesus calming the storm in Mark 4 and invited the folks gathered there in the street to enjoy the peace of God in the storms of life by asking Jesus into their lives. We’re still thanking God for that great opportunity.

That day when evening came, he said to his disciples, “Let us go over to the other side.” Leaving the crowd behind, they took him along, just as he was, in the boat. There were also other boats with him. A furious squall came up, and the waves broke over the boat, so that it was nearly swamped. Jesus was in the stern, sleeping on a cushion.

The disciples woke him and said to him, “Teacher, don’t you care if we drown?” He got up, rebuked the wind and said to the waves, “Quiet! Be still!” Then the wind died down and it was completely calm. He said to his disciples, “Why are you so afraid? Do you still have no faith?” They were terrified and asked each other, “Who is this? Even the wind and the waves obey him!” Mark 4:35-41

Our Photos of the Week will show up cada semana in our Friday posts on Mission Erickson dot com. There won’t be much verbage because we believe in the old adage that “A picture is worth a thousand words.” Our hope is that each weekly 1,000 “words” helps you to better connect with our ministry in Guatemala. Enjoy.
