¡Completo!

All it took to complete the construction of a new house for Fermina and Laura this week was a couple hundred block, lots of cement and concrete, some green and blue paint, orange piping, corrugated metal roofing, electrical wiring and people willing to serve.

This project began with Forrest and Fernando. Then had plumbing ditches dug by Jesse Johnson and his sons. The foundation was laid and the walls put up by the Destiny Church Leesburg team and then the team from Purcellville Baptist Church put on the roof, laid the floors and handed over the proverbial keys.

The point is not who did what when, but rather that God is moving in the hearts of His people and that they served in practical ways to provide two sisters in Santiago Zamora a new home. A new home that will be used as a center for ministry. This new home has two bedrooms but the sisters have decided to share one room while using the other as a place for prayer. It is from this house on this hillside that God will continue to change this small aldea tucked into a valley just outside of Antigua, Guatemala.

“I planted the seed, Apollos watered the plants, but God made you grow. It’s not the one who plants or the one who waters who is at the center of this process but God, who makes things grow. Planting and watering are menial servant jobs at minimum wages. What makes them worth doing is the God we are serving.”
Paul in I Corinthians 3
