Restore, Redeem, RELEASE

Our ministry in Guatemala can be boiled down to three words: Restore, Redeem and Release. This is the third of three posts designed to share with you how these three verbs are fleshed out.

Our friend, Fernando, working hard as always.

We hope to live and serve in Guatemala for the long-haul, to love on and serve the people of Guatemala as God leads us.

That being said, we may or may not still be serving here 10 years from now. We are fully relying on God for that direction. One thing we do know for sure:  our Guatemalan friends will be here. This is their home country (see Mi Pais).  For us, it is our adopted country.

That is why the word Release is so important to our philosophy of ministry. As the RHI team restores hope to broken lives and communicates God’s redemptive love, the long term goal is to see our Guatemalan friends turn around and do the same for their friends, family and neighbors. We desire to see God release our friends to a life of ministry. I’m always encouraged by my friend Fernando who constantly remarks that his ministry is serving the people of his aldea: Santiago Zamora. Please pray for Fernando and his family as they seek to be salt and light.

“And the things you have heard me say in the presence of many witnesses entrust to reliable people who will also be qualified to teach others.”

II Timothy 2:2
